About The
Imperfect Self

The Imperfect Self is a soulful tech platform for conscious personal growth.

We believe that real, lasting transformation starts with self-inquiry, not with chasing perfection.

In a world full of quick fixes, superficial advice, and an overwhelming number of coaches, we create space for true authenticity.

That's why we combine intelligent AI conversations (MirrorTalks), radically curated content, and real human coaching into one digital ecosystem, both web-based and app-based.

No filters. No noise. Just the right tools and support, exactly when you need them.

Our products: Web Platform · Mobile App

We're currently in the concept phase: the idea has been strategically developed, core processes are in place, and the business model is being shaped.

The next step? Defining, building, and evolving the MVP together with you. Not looking for an executor, but a true co-creator.

The role, in detail

About The Position

Basics

Let's start with some details.

  • LocationDubai-based, with regular in-person collaboration during key build and strategic phases
  • TimeWhatever the phase demands. You bring founder-level ownership to the role, and know when to be fully in, when to step back, and when to bring in the right external support.
  • StartAs soon as possible
  • ContributionAn active co-founder role requiring consistent financial leadership, hands-on involvement in key build and strategic phases, and shared responsibility for company decisions
  • EquityThis is an equity-based founder opportunity rather than a salaried position at the current stage. The proposed equity and vesting structure will be shared with candidates after an initial alignment conversation

Who I'm
looking for

A strategically minded CFO with commercial flair and the ability to build the business and revenue architecture from the ground up. You're strong with numbers, but you also think in opportunities, revenue models, go-to-market strategies, and smart partnership structures.

You're alert, sharp, and independent. You enjoy building a company from scratch: shaping business models, testing, optimising, scaling them, and working together with Lisa (CEO) and the CTO. You switch effortlessly between strategic and operational levels, work intensively with others, but know when to hold your own line.

You sense when it's time to push through, when to align, and when to simply say "no", even to Lisa :)

You are someone who:

  • Has experience with SaaS and membership models, pricing, and digital platforms
  • Can set up and maintain forecasts, dashboards, and financial structures
  • Understands partnerships and sales channels, and knows how to activate them
  • Has experience with investors and exit (a plus)
  • Has experience with cap table management
  • Proactively identifies risks and growth opportunities and translates them into strategic choices
  • Thinks strategically but also executes: from funding to legal, from cash flow to administration
  • Is comfortable contributing to people operations and compensation governance as the team grows
  • Co-builds from a place of involvement, vision, and ownership in exchange for sweat equity
  • Wants to contribute to positioning, proposition, and implementation structure
  • Is actively engaged in personal growth and conscious living
  • Stays connected: wants to inform and be informed
  • Is comfortable working alongside a first-time CEO who is ambitious, fast-learning, and fully committed

What you'll
be doing

From day one, you'll be co-architect of the business model and financial foundation. Together with Lisa (CEO) and the CTO, you'll translate our vision into a scalable, healthy, and profitable company and lead the people and processes that make it financially sustainable.

You combine strategy, finance, and commercial logic in one role, setting the direction for everything related to money, growth, and structure.

  • Financial leadership: manage the finances, administration, and cash flow, and build a solid financial plan including budgets, scenarios, and reporting. You own this domain end-to-end, including the administrative and compliance requirements of operating within the DWTC Free Zone in Dubai.
  • Business model and pricing strategy: develop the full revenue model for the platform: memberships, pay-per-use AI tools, coach matching, events, premium content, and more. You think like a builder and a co-owner, not just a numbers person.
  • Validation and technical transferability: test and validate revenue models in collaboration with the CEO and CTO, and translate them into implementation-ready structures that can be built into the technology.
  • Dashboards and investor-ready reporting: set up financial dashboards, KPIs, and documentation for internal steering and for external parties such as investors, keeping our financial narrative consistent, transparent, and investor-ready at all times.
  • Partnerships and B2B strategy: research and activate partnerships, affiliate structures, or B2B approaches that fit our offering and mission.
  • Funding and growth phase guidance: prepare funding rounds, develop materials, hold conversations with investors, and ensure we're building in a financially sustainable and scalable way.
  • People operations & compensation governance: in coordination with the CEO, establish financial policies related to team compensation, hiring budgets, and payroll systems, ensuring compliance, fiscal sustainability, and alignment with company culture as the team grows.

You're not just the numbers person. You're a leader.

What I
offer

  • Real co-founder equity, with involvement and ownership (structure shared after an initial alignment conversation)
  • Part of the core team (CEO, CTO, CFO): equal in vision, each with a distinct area of focus
  • Freedom to build, full autonomy to shape the financial foundation and commercial direction
  • Shared decision-making: we build together based on mutual respect and equal voice, all strategic decisions are made unanimously until a Shareholders Agreement is in place
  • Transparent communication and processes
  • A vision-driven team with courage, speed, and a bias for action
  • Bold ambition: positioning The Imperfect Self for a €100M+ strategic acquisition within 5–6 years
  • No politics, just direct communication, fast execution, and deep conversations
  • A well-developed concept and initial investment capital provided by the CEO

Working style
& Human Design

Feel free to share your Human Design chart if you already have one.

Human Design is used within The Imperfect Self as a strategic and reflective lens to understand collaboration dynamics, decision-making styles, energy rhythms, and long-term founding team coherence. It does not replace experience, capability, or execution.

It's used to explore:

  • How founders make decisions under pressure
  • How energy is exchanged within the team
  • Where natural strengths and friction points may arise
  • Whether long-term collaboration feels coherent and workable

No single type or authority is required. What matters is self-awareness, emotional maturity, respect for each other's decision-making processes, and the ability to communicate and take responsibility.

Selection
principle

As founder and CEO, I assess potential co-founders across multiple dimensions, reflecting both the ambition of the company and the responsibility of building a resilient founding team.

  • Technical capability: the ability to build and lead what the company needs now and in future phases
  • Experience: operating at a level appropriate to a pre-seed, high-growth environment
  • Commitment: time, availability, ownership, willingness to carry responsibility
  • Founding team coherence: how decision-making, communication, pressure, and energy dynamics function within the team

All four dimensions matter. Strong technical skills alone are not sufficient for a founding role, and alignment in vision without coherence in execution creates long-term risk.

My
ambition

I'm not just building a platform. I'm building a movement.

My ambition is to build a solid, profitable, high-impact company and position it for a potential €100M+ strategic exit within 5 to 6 years. Not building fast just to sell it, creating real value.

International scale is built into the foundation. The initial coach and practitioner network starts with a focused Dutch market approach, but the broader platform is not country-bound.

This requires co-founders who:

  • Dare to think beyond the obvious
  • Are strategic and hands-on
  • Thrive in a fast-moving, evolving environment
  • Feel true ownership, in both vision and execution
  • Understand that impact and commercial ambition can strengthen each other

A note from the founder

Lisa

Lisa is the visionary force behind The Imperfect Self. She embodies leadership, initiative, structure, and action. She thinks fast, works hard, and feels deeply. She holds the line, dreams big, and values direct communication.

Lisa is far from mainstream. She follows her own current. With strong values and a drive to connect people, she thrives in the grey space between strategy and creation.

With a background in architectural engineering, Lisa worked for years as a project manager in real estate, until a deep desire for freedom, purpose, and working on her own terms sparked a radical shift. The idea for The Imperfect Self came to her, and she never let go.

She's looking for experienced co-founders who not only complement but also elevate the mission, in a culture of openness, equality, and growth.

Other role sought

The Founding
Team

Alongside a financial co-founder (CFO), we're also looking for a technical co-founder (CTO) focused on vision, technology, and product development.

This person will be responsible for developing the AI features, setting up the digital platform, and building a scalable tech foundation (web & app).

The goal is for the three of us to form the core team, each with a distinct focus, but with shared leadership and a unified vision. You, as CFO, set the commercial direction and financial structure. Lisa holds the brand, the mission, and the execution. The CTO builds the product and the underlying technology.

Know the (im)perfect person for this role? Please let us know.

Ready to do things differently?

Let's talk.

Not ticking every box? Who cares. If you feel this is mine, I need to be part of this, we want to hear from you. This isn't a job application, it's the start of a founder conversation.
